A Quick Help Guide To History And Forms Of Sedan Cars
One type of car that has known great popularity through the ages is the sedan, mainly because of the way the car is compartmented, with enough space for the passengers and a separate space for the trunk and the motor. Different classes of sedans were developed through the years, to satisfy the consumers’ needs; luxury sedans represent the peak of this type of car, but, because of their prohibitive prices, not everybody can afford them.
Through the ages: AWD Sedans
The term ‘sedan’ seems to be a variant of the Italian word ‘sedia’ which actually means ‘chair’. Even without cars, the upper class from the late sixteenth century found a way to travel more comfortably; litters were very popular and their names, containing the term ‘sella’, the Latin for carried chair, made them as close as possible to today’s sedans. Even if the old time litter can hardly be called a sedan variant, the way means of transportation evolved is strongly related to how the people from those days saw the proper way of traveling around.
Renault was the first car manufacturer to make a sedan model, which was called Renault Voiturette Type B; the thing about this car was that it was never actually called a sedan. But Renault Voiturette Type B really was a sedan, as it had two doors and a roof to prove it. It was not until 1911 that a car that looked like a sedan and it was called a sedan was made by an US car manufacturer. The name of this company was Speedwell Motor and its headquarters were in Dayton, Ohio. What made the 1911 Speedwell vehicle special was the fully closed design, along with its four seats for passengers. The sedan model was finally imposed on the car making market, and other fully closed cars with the same configuration followed soon after.
A variety of trends for Best sedans
Sedans are not a single type of car, which makes them the more interesting. This variety comes to address the consumers’ needs for different types of cars, style wise, or functionality wise. One of these trends was the one of the notchback sedan, particular through the fact that the trunk was clearly separated from the rest of the vehicle. Fastback sedans were also a very popular trend, as many appreciated the elegant, curved design that included the cargo with the body of the car. There are many other types of sedans, such as hatchback sedans, two door sedans, hardtop sedans and limousine sedans. The luxury class represents a category on its own, because of the expensive price, and also because of the exquisite features it offers to those that can afford the steep pricing.
The history of top sedans continues to this day, and, because of the car’s popularity, different trends are bound to appear in the future, as well. The interesting history of the sedans car does not stop here, as car manufacturers launch new features each year.

Haha thanks, those are all great answers, but it's for a third year university art class. I want it to be something really perfect. I got black and white pictures from my Grandmothers life. What kind of things remind you of your grandmothers time?
