The Deadly Beauty Of The Boomslang
The boomslang snake is a dual venomous snake that dwells chiefly in Tanzania, Africa. The word boomslang translates to literally mean “tree snake”. Now you can figure out that this snake resides in the trees.
Many people get travel visas or Tanzania visas only to venture to Eastern Africa to see these amazing creatures. Sure, some might happen to travel to hike the mountain Kilimanjaro, but with much hype around these green sexual dimorphic beauties it is hard not to get engrossed in their grasp.
Lately the boomslang has been featured in lots of popular culture references. Everything from a kind of computer mouse to a Marvel comic villain all bear the boomslang’s name. But, “Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets” is the most famous in today’s modern world. The shed skin from a boomslang is used as one of the powerful ingredients in this popular children’s tale.
Rowling is not the only author to reference the boomslang; Agatha Christie made the venom a lethal weapon in one of her 1930’s books. Maybe this is because of the boomslang’s twofold venom. The serpent’s venom has both hemotoxins and neurotoxins, so it attacks both the nervous system and the blood. So if you are wounded by this snake, chances are pretty darn good that you won’t make it through the next sunrise.
This perhaps is why tourists do get Tanzania visas to come travel all the way to the ends of the earth to watch these lovelies in person. They are shy snakes and not very aggressive, so the likelihood of actually being bitten by them is rare, but it can happen. Most fatalities come to tourists with their cameras and tourist visas, ready to get way too close for a photo opportunity. Another common falsehood is that this rear fanged creature is incapable to give much of a bite. Don’t fall into this belief. The dislocation of the jaw to a 90 degree angle can happen in less than a second and then you are dead. And since it is rear fanged, unlike most snakes that have front fangs, when it bites, it always injects venom.
The boomslang is in the family of chiefly non-venomous snakes called colubridae, which make up two-thirds of all snakes. But always investigate your herpetology and never presume. Always know what kind of toxicity the snake has before you try handling it. The smallest error will result in your direct death.
Now you and your family can get your travel visas and reliably venture out to see one of the most deadly and beautiful creatures on our planet. Take lots of pictures from a secure distance, and enjoy your trip.
Im planning on buying a sound percussion 8 piece double bass drum kit, and it doesn't come with cymbals...?
...it has
3 x Double-braced boom cymbal stands
Double-braced hi-hat stand
Boom cymbal arm (attaches on bass drum)
Does anyone know a relatively cheap cymbal pack that will get me all these cymbals? Thanks
its common for drums to be sold without the cymbals. this is because if youre buying high quality shells, they expect you would buy high quality cymbals. dont listen to the other 2 answers. i have the best source for you right here: www.midwestpercussion.com
first of all, they usually have tons of package deals. also, they do free shipping on like 80% of their merchandise. ive bought the majority of my cymbals from here. anyways, to get back to your question, check out some paiste of zildjian cymbal packs. these seem to be the best value for the money. these are nice, name brand lines and they do a good job of picking out some cool combos. my other pieces of advice is to go to guitar center or another music store and try some out and buy them individually! you dont need to spend tons of money on cymbals. i use a whole range of cymbals. and to the guy above me, whats wrong with a trash can lid sound? i think thats awesome! i once took an old pair of hihats and smashed one with a sledge hammer multiple times. got a cymbal that not only looked beat up and awesome, but sounded great too!
